9 Month Update

Can you believe Owen will be 9 months old next week? I can't. It seems that every day he is doing something new and showing his personality even more, it's surprising at times to see just how much he understands. He has preferences now for which books he likes more and knows when to push away his bottle and reach for his pacifier to get ready for bed. He laughs at TV shows and my hilarious jokes. He reaches for us to pick him up and gets sad when we walk out of the room. It's all so amazing to watch and I love every second.

Here are Owen's highlights for the past month:
  • Went from "inch worming" across the floor to officially crawling at lightning speed
  • Started climbing up the stairs and pulling himself up onto us, bath tubs, ottomans, etc.
  • Mastered "chewing" Cheerios (thanks to Dad - see video in prior post)
  • Loves watching TV (which we try to only do when desperate and getting ready for work in the morning)
  • Sits up perfectly and laughs when he falls over
  • Started eating "pasta dinners" and yogurt
  • Enjoyed his first Thanksgiving dinner with the Avey's and the Gates' and tried his first mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce...loved the cranberry sauce!
As for Teague and I, I celebrated the big 30 this month and we enjoyed a fun visit from Katie, a great dinner with friends and an amazing trip to Mexico, er, Puerto Rico! Thanks to one expired passport and a true Christmas miracle, we switched our trip 20 hours beforehand to visit San Juan, a US Territory, instead of Cancun as planned. It was an extremely stressful few hours when this all occurred, but it worked out in the end and we had a great time relaxing, sleeping, drinking, swimming and catching up - just the two of us. Meanwhile, Owen enjoyed some quality time with both sets of grandparents.

Of course, we took ZERO pictures on vacation, but here are some highlights from the rest of the month:
